Garden Admission

Open Daily 9:00AM - 5:00PM (last admittance at 4:30PM) 

Admission includes parking, access to the grounds during regular garden hours, and seasonal exhibits (Art Exhibit, Native Wildlife Exhibit, and Butterfly House). Tickets are valid one year from purchase date and cannot be used for entry into special events. You do not need to purchase tickets for a specific date or time! 

Visitor Reminders:

  • Guests must exit the grounds by 5:00PM.
  • Pets, drones, balloons, and sporting equipment are not allowed.
  • Small picnic lunches are okay; however, groups coming for parties and private events require a separate reservation and fee.
  • Groups coming for photos (amateur or professional) require a separate reservation and fee. This includes prom, maternity, family, engagement, graduation, wedding, etc. Groups without a photo reservation will not be allowed entry. VIEW PHOTO POLICY
  • Gardens Closed Mondays (Jan & Feb only), New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day

 

Summer Concert Series

Bring your chairs and join in our summer tradition by the Airlie Oak. These family-friendly concerts allow guests to enjoy live music while taking in the beauty of Airlie Gardens. Concerts are held the 1st and 3rd Friday, July through September. Tickets are limited and concerts will sell out.

  • Individual Members|  1 Adult per concert.
  • Family Members| 2 Adults and accompanying children per concert.
  • Camellia, Magnolia and Azalea Members | 2 Adults and accompanying children per concert. 2 additional guest passes may be used per concert. Each guest requires valid guest pass and must utilize off-site parking lot unless riding in your vehicle.  *Preregistration is not required for guest passes; simply present guest pass upon arrival.

Concert Parking:

  • On-site parking for Camellia, Magnolia & Azalea Members with a valid parking hang tag. Gates open at 5:00PM.
  • All other attendees must park off site at the NEW PARKING LOCATION (1241 Military Cutoff Rd). Off-site parking is free and includes a free shuttle to the garden starting at 5:00PM. 

Attention Airlie Members!

  • To reserve complimentary tickets included in your membership benefits you must be signed in to your member account and choose "Airlie Member" ticket options. Discount will not appear until checkout. 
  • To purchase tickets outside of membership benefits please choose "Concert-Adult" or "Concert-Child" ticket options. 

Bird Hike

Enjoy birding at the gardens starting at 8am the second Wednesday of every month and select other days. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

EE Public Program

Join us as we partner with the NC Hummingbird Research Program to observe how banding works for tiny hummingbirds! Naturalist and hummingbird banding expert Susan Campbell and her team will demonstrate the process of hummingbird banding, a critical component of hummingbird research. Learn about how hummingbirds are captured, banded, and processed before release. Get an up close look at some of our most energetic and charismatic birds! 

Recommended age is 12+. 

 

NHC Resident Free Day

NHC Resident Free Day admission includes: parking, access to the grounds during regular garden hours and seasonal exhibits (Art Exhibit, Native Wildlife Exhibit, and Butterfly House). A valid New Hanover County ID is required to be shown at check-in. 

Visitor Reminders:

  • One New Hanover County ID is valid for 2 adults and any accompanying children. 
  • Pets and sporting equipment are not allowed.
  • Drones are not permitted to fly.

Exhibit Opening Night

Enjoy a special evening in the garden celebrating the start of this year's art exhibit, It's Owl Good! This year's exhibit features 10 uniquely adorned fiberglass owl models placed throughout the garden.

Camellia, Magnolia and Azalea Members! Reserve your member tickets here for up to two adults and any accompanying children under 18. In addition to your reserved tickets, guest passes may be used for additional guest admission. Reservations are not required for guest passes; simply present the guest pass at arrival. Each additional guest will require a valid guest pass.

All parking is on-site, last admission will be 6:30pm.

Photography Reservation

 

Photography Reservation

We are happy to offer a unique backdrop for both amateur and professional photography. Our photography fee provides ongoing fundraising to help maintain the beauty of the gardens and its services. Photography fee covers admission for everyone involved in the reservation.  

In the event of rain or inclement weather, a reservation can be rescheduled or canceled with a full refund. We ask that these decisions be made at least one hour prior to a scheduled reservation.

Butterfly Release 2021

You're invited to take part in a butterfly release at Airlie Gardens! One of our Environmental Educators will be in our native Butterfly House discussing the butterfly life cycle and the different types of butterflies in the House that week.
